HOW TO CONNECT TWO PC USING CROSSOVER CABLE AND HOW TO MAKE CROSSOVER CABLE

If you already have a crossover cable you don’t have to read this. But if you want to learn how to make one, you’re welcome to learn.

A crossover cable is used to connect two the same devices like PC to PC connection.

A straight through cable is used to connect two different devices.

How to make Crossover Cable

First we need:

1) Crimping tools (e.g. below)

2) LAN cable or Ethernet Cable (e.g. below)

3) RJ – 45 Plug

4) Side cutting pliers or Scissor

5) Network Cable Tester

6) Obviously 2 computers to connectJ

Procedures:

Prepare the equipment: I used Ethernet cable because it is easy to work than LAN cable because of the color coding but LAN cable will work fine.

1) Strip the plastic sheath 1/2” or one half inch long at both ends (be careful not to injure the small wires inside) use scissor or wire stripper.

2) Analyze the color coding, it must be like this:

Push the wire inside the RJ – 45 facing the pins not the plug holder. Be sure you’ll do the same as in the pics, it is difficult at first but be patient.

3) Crimp the hub with the wire:

4) Test the connectivity:

Any way if you are confident with your work you don’t need this, be honest I never use this but I do connect the my laptop and desktop computer.

If you want to learn more theory about crossover and straight line cable you can search. I’m not a network expert or hacker I just want to share my experience. J Good Luck
